Sparks & Inheritance

Sparks from an Uma’s Parents and Grandparents provide Stats, Aptitudes, and Skills. Sparks activate three times during a Career: At the start of the Career, and the two Inspiration Events.

Sparks are divided into Blue, Pink, Green, and White.

An example Super Creek’s Sparks.

Blue Sparks

Blue Sparks increase Stats at the start of a Career and during Inspiration events. Blue Sparks are usually used to increase Stats that are not prioritized during a Career. The Blue Spark can be randomly chosen from any Stat, and the star odds are determined by Stat thresholds of 600 and 1100.

INFO

Having a high Stat does NOT make it more likely to get that Stat's Spark.

It is recommended to pursue Blue Sparks of necessary Stats that are not prioritized during the Career.

Pink Sparks

Pink Sparks affect your Uma's Aptitudes. A parent’s Pink spark is randomly chosen between each of their A or S aptitudes, with each aptitude having an equal chance of being chosen.

Pink Sparks can also increase an Uma’s Aptitudes before the start of the run, up to a maximum of 4 steps.

INFO

This cannot increase an Uma’s Aptitude to S.

Green Sparks

We unlock Green Sparks at Star Unlock Level 3 or above. A Parent’s Inherited Unique will be acquired at the start of a Career, whereas a Grandparent’s Inherited Unique must be acquired from Inspiration. The odds of Green Spark generation are currently unknown.

White Sparks

There are 3 types of White Sparks: Race, Scenario, and Skill sparks.

Race Sparks provide either two Stat bonuses or a Stat bonus and a Skill, Scenario Sparks provide two Stat bonuses, and Skill Sparks provide the corresponding Skill. There are key Skills to prioritize for White Sparks: For example, Backliners will often need Uma Stan, and Front Runners will always need Groundwork. White Sparks are the best way to acquire these Skills without running suboptimal Support Cards.

  • Skill sparks can be generated by learning the Skill during a Career, and only the White version of the Skill can be generated.

  • Race sparks are generated from winning G1 races during the Career. Winning the same race multiple times does not increase the chance of generating the spark.

  • Scenario Sparks are generated by winning the URA Finale Finals in URA, and from playing Unity Cup.

INFO

Strangely, Unity Cup Sparks can be generated without winning the Unity Cup or URA Finale.

The probability to generate any given White Spark is rolled independently, i.e. there is no maximum to the amount of White Sparks that an Uma can generate.

Inspiration Events

Inspiration Events occur at the beginning of April in Classic and Senior Years.

  • Blue Sparks will still increase Stats, but by a random amount.

    • 1* Sparks will roll between 1-10, 2* 1-16, and 3* 1-28. Higher stars will also have better odds to roll higher Stats.
  • Pink Sparks inherited at A rank Aptitude will raise it to S rank.

    • Pink Sparks have a hidden innate value when obtained during Inspiration Events. Because of this, it is possible to increase Aptitude by 2 steps with one Pink Spark.
  • Parents have a higher chance to proc Sparks than Grandparents.

  • A Gold Inspiration Event is an indicator that a 3* Spark proc’d on the virtue of being a 3*, i.e., it would not have otherwise proc’d if it was a 2*.

Affinity

A major aspect to consider when making Parents is Affinity.

In-game, total Affinity is displayed through shapes:

Great Affinity (>150 points)

Good Affinity (150 to 50 points)

Poor Affinity (<50 points)

The base Affinity is calculated by a predetermined Affinity value between different Umas. The Affinity of Parents can then be increased 1 point by each overlapping Graded Race wins between Grandparents and their respective Parents. The four Triple Crown epithets also increase Affinity by 1 each.

(caution) In the coming updates, there will be a major Affinity change that makes G1s give 3 Affinity per win, and G2/G3 0.

When calculating odds of inheriting Sparks, the formula below is used. Each Parent and Grandparent has individual Affinities, and will calculate separately during Inspiration Events. This is why Grandparents will often have much worse Inspirations than Parents.

Spark Inheritance Formula:

base_inheritance_odds_per_type×(1+individual affinity score100)=inheritance_odds_per_type
3☆ Green Spark example: 15% * (1 + 200/100) -> 15% * (1 + 2) = 45%
